Cawthorne CC won by 111 runs in their Barnsley derby at Elsecar in a cup game.

Liam Wiles carried his bat with 96 not out off 100 balls in Cawthorne’s 199, with nine fours and two sixes. The only other player to make more than ten was number eight Archie Greaves who hit four sixes in his 40.

Elsecar’s Jason Meadows took six for 14 off 9.5 overs.

Elsecar were skittled for 88 with Pakistan international Danish Aziz taking three wickets.

Barnsley Woolley Miners CC won by ten wickets at Stockton in the ECB National Club Championship.

The hosts fell from 119 for one to 172 all out with George Richardson taking three wickets.

Barnsley openers secured the win with teenager Owen Smith, who played for Yorkshire 2nd XI last week, smashing 99 not out off 90 balls with 12 fours and three sixes.

New Zealander Jacob Cumming also carried his bat with 62.
